High-Risk Pregnancy

umbcpt

I'm still pregnant!!! Can you believe it?  My last 3 appts, my doc has walked in shaking her head saying she can't believe I'm still pregnant. Especially since we had a couple scares with PTL.  I was on strict bedrest for awhile to stop contrax and hit 36 1/2 wks..they took me off strict and put be back on mod.  And the contrax have pretty much stopped!!  Now I'm still waiting for something to happen!  I'm dialated to a 1, my cervix is over 50%thinned and effaced and Livy is at the lowest station possible!  But she's been that low for weeks now, so I think she's decided she likes it in there!

How are you doing?  Love the pic of your darling baby..so cute!!!!!

Re: umbcpt

  • I am so glad to hear you are okay.  How is your back doing?  I saw some of your recent posts...you moved?  and bought a restaurant?  Very exciting.  You must be exhausted.  Pregancy is hard enough.  Whew!

PTL scares are no joke, girl.  I remember those.  Not fun.  Sick of going to L&D yet?  Well, at 37 weeks, that is where I wanted to be, and wanted to leave with a baby for goodness sake.  So I got tired of going and leaving with no baby.  Yes, I was 3.5cm and 50% effaced for 3 weeks.  The waiting is the worst, especially when you are ready to meet her.

Things are good here.  Shane is a great big brother, but he ordered a little brother this morning.  He said he loves his sister and he would like me to make a brother in his tummy, LOL.  Kylee recently started sleeping throught the night, 12 hours!  She occasionally wakes up for the paci, but no longer nurses!  I want at least one more, but not anytime soon.  I got my Mirena yesterday.  I have not settled into it yet, but it has to be better than taking a pill every day, and when we are ready for #3, we can have it removed and start right away.  It was uncomfortable going in, and I have to say when we are done, my DH is sooooo getting a vasectomy, he just doesn't know it yet.

Good luck, girl.  You will do great.  Do you know if you will have a c-section or vaginal delivery yet?

  • What a great update!  Except for the part where you were effaced and dialted for so long...don't tell me that Mama!  I can't believe you have her sleeping through the night!  Wow, can I send you Livy to train at some point? :-)

My back is ok, hurts like hell, but they've doubled my pain meds.  My docs are really happy with where I've been able to keep them at and they don't feel Livy will be affected at all.  I'm going to try for a vaginal birth, naturally, but my docs say that a natural birth will be near impossible.  They "think" they'll be able to do a epi as long as there isn't a bunch of fluid on my spine.  And the hope is that they'll be able to do a spinal block if a c-section is necessary, but if they can't then I have to go all the way under.  So, we'll be trying hard to avoid that!

Yes, we moved and bought a restaurant!  And yes, we are very crazy.  It has been exhausting and overwhelming, but it will allow me to keep Livy with Troy and I throughout the day as opposed to having her in daycare.  And it has solved our problem of my job...I will be terminated as soon as my STD runs out on May 6th.  And there is now way I'll be able to head back to work then!  We are excited to get it opened up and will be waiting on Miss Liv to decide when that will be...hopefully by the first weekend in May!
