hope I didn't jinx anything

so. . .I stupidly said something at work today about my stomach not feeling great.  Another teacher that I am close to said "is there anything you need to tell us".  I giggled.  WTF?!  Anyway, I wasn't going to be able to lie to her so I told her I was pg but only about 6 wks.  I plan on telling my boss next week after my first appt.  I have NEVER told anyone this early so I hope I didn't jinx it.  I am a little concerned about something happening.  I know that if something is going to happen it was going to happen no matter if I told someone or not.  With my 1st pg, I didn't tell anyone and had a m/c at 10 weeks.  With DD, I didn't tell anyone until 12 weeks due to the m/c right before and I had started at a new school and didn't really know anyone.  Now, I have worked at this school several years and I am really close to people.  I hate having a secret from some of my best friends.  Please tell me great stories about how you told people early and everything went fabulous anyway!

Re: hope I didn't jinx anything

  • We told people the second the pregnancy test said "Pregnant" with dd. Literally, DH was on the phone w/his parents within 5 minutes. That was w/DD #1

With DD #2, DH again told his brother the day we found out.

Both times we told everyone well before 12 weeks and I never ever had a problem w/either pregnancy.

But,  I can see how your previous m/c would have you nervous. Try not to worry! You'll be fine :)

  • I have two little special friends that I told everyone about as soon as I tested positively for pregnancy (I blabbed both times, immediately- and all went well!)

you'll be fine, and so will your baby!

I'm sure everything will be just fine!  But FYI,

anything stomach related + woman of childbearing-age = pregnant

when it comes to co-workers :)

  • EMT-I know!  As soon as I said it I was like oh crap!  I thought I was thinking it in my head but actually said it out loud!  Damn pregnancy brain.
