We are now considering Independent Adoption through an attorney. We will continue working with our agency but feel it's time to move on as our agency doesn't have anything "going on". We are setting up conference calls with a few for next week. I have a pretty good list going of questions to ask as far as how long it shall take, cost, how many waiting families they are working with, etc. Can you think of anything I will need to ask? Thanks for your help.
Re: Independent Adoptions
You have a PM
As far as questions:
How do they ensure the BM isn't working with multiple agencies or attorneys?
How many placements do they do in a year vs. how many families do they have waiting.
Also, at what point in the pregnancy do they match? Anytime or third trimester?
What is the rate of failed matches that they see in their practice?
Those are my fave questions.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
