A family member is going to watch our peanut 3 days a week when I return to work part-time. I want to pay her, but I'm not sure what's reasonable. I know I'd pay about $50 to send her to a daycare center. Is in-home usually less?
In-home is generally less, yes. I run a licensed daycare in the Hoffman/Schaumburg Area, and I charge $40/day for infants and $35/day for kids over one.
We love our licensed, in home provider and she watches 4 other children besides our DD. We pay her $46 per day, regardless of the age of the child. We live on the north side of the city.
