appt this morning went well - met one more of the midwives in the practice i had yet to meet and liked her just fine which is good. she also didn't completely blow me off when i asked about baby's position though she did say that they don't worry too much at 32 weeks because they can still move etc etc but she was at least trying to tell and she said she's def head down - and that was the prob i couldn't tell her head from her butt so i knew where both big ends were i just didn't know which was which. so it makes me feel better that she's been settled in this position for quite a while so hopefully will continue that way. measurements and heartbeat were great - though i gained 4lbs in 2 weeks! eek!! lol. they still seem okay with it which i guess is good but it's killing me to see it!
the downside to the appt was we discussed my heartburn meds (i'm on protonix right now) and how i can't take it for bfing. she was going to do more research and get back to me but also recommended i find a GI dr up here to look into any sort of anatomical issue causing my probs at such a young age etc etc (i've been on proton pump inhibitors for like 6-7 years and have had issues since i was 18 at least). she also gave me the name of an acupuncture person i could try. then a few hours later she called back to say that NONE of the meds in the class i'm currently on are safe for bfing and basically my only option would be zantac - which i used to take OTC before seeing my first GI dr 6 some years ago and it wasn't cutting it. so now i'm skeered of my postpardum heartburn too!! :-(
Re: baby lyte is head down!!
Mother's Day, 2011
Headdown is VERY good.
There are some EOs that work for heartburn. Have you tried APC?
Glad to read this! I worry incessantly about baby's positioning, too
Stay headdown baby lyte!
But boo on the heartburn issues. I don't have any experience or knowledge or advice, but I hope it works out!
Yay for baby being head down!
For heartburn... have you ever tried papaya enzymes? They are seriously awesome!!
