When did you start your freezer stash?

How long before you went back to work did you start your freezer stash? How much did you have stored when you went back to work?

I started my freezer stash at about 6 weeks.  When i went back to work on monday i had about 63 oz in the freezer. I am pumping once in the morning before work and twice at work, and luckily, i am pumping a little extra than what i need.

I started about a week after we came home. I have about 350 oz frozen right now. I go back to work on the 20th and would like to have another 100 oz frozen by then.

I would say the sooner the better.  But I don't think it's a big deal.  With DD#1 I had maybe a week's worth of milk (whatever that is for your child).  I don't think it's necessary to have a freezerful of months of milk, but you want enough for the first few days and some extras - accidents happen - you can't pump because of a mtg, you just don't get as much pumping sometimes as feeding, there was the day I knocked the pump off the desk and spilled milk, the day I knocked it over and broke the faceplate, they need more milk over time until 6 mos or so..... 

Just make sure to do it before you go back so that you are comfortable pumping and knowing what you'll want handy, and to feel comfortable that you aren't stressing over baby having enough milk.  Another thing to consider, since I was BF and the little one refused a bottle until daycare, I wasn't sure how much she would really eat, so I calculated what she should eat based on something in Baby 411 based on weight and then gave them an extra bottle.  So you may need a little more milk than you think for that reason too!

i had thrush for most of my mat leave with #1 so couldn't save milk. i had maybe 20-30oz in the freezer. the most i got up to was may 40-50 oz with pumping evenings and weekends. i never had to supplement.
