Cherios

Any one given them to LO yet? When can you?

Re: Cherios

  • No, thats a much more advanced food.   Stage 2 (maybe even 3) I think when they have a few chompers, sit unsupported, and can feed it to themselves - and know that they are doing it - not just putting "something" in their mouth.

ETA: and mastered - stage 1 foods.  I think this is something that you should also discuss with the pedi at your LOs next appt.  You don't want them choking.

  • nope. I think I gave them to DD1 at 7 or 8 months.. they need to know how to "chew" at that point and it takes them a little while of solids before they get that concept.

Also, FWIW because I didn't realize this the first time I bought them.. when you do buy them, don't bother w/ the Cheerios in the baby isle. I thought they would be softer or melt more easily or something, but they're the exact same thing as regular Cheerios, just marketed for babies in a fancy bottle and cost more Wink
