This is gonna suck...

We promised that we would take Caroline to see DH's parents today. They only live about 45 minutes away, and have only been here two or three times since the child was born. His Dad has pretty severe arthritis and his Mom works constantly...but still, I kinda thought they'd be here more. But, I digress...

My DH thought he was going to get off at about 1pm today...Caroline and I have been ready to go since then. It is now 2:30, and he is still at work. He may be here by 3pm. That'll put us there at 4pm...and that's when my child likes to get fussy. We don't enjoy afternoons these days.

But, we promised we'd go...and there's no possible way that my DH will change his mind. I guess she can be fussy there as easily as she can be fussy at home...but I can't whip out the boob as easily there, so that will be a pain. Then I'll get all the comments about how spoiled she is and I'll have to bite the end off my tongue. They mean well, and aren't mean spirited at all, but they don't understand how much I detest that word. I have a delightful child...who isn't the least bit spoiled.

So, here's to my sucky afternoon/evening at my in-laws house...I'll definitely need a drink when I get home...

Sorry you don't want to go!!! 45 minutes is what it takes us to get anywhere around Detroit!!! Maybe she will enjoy looking around and the car ride?? Good luck!

Maybe the car ride will lull her into a good mood? Stay strong! I know how annoying it is to be ready for 1 pm (it's such a production for me) and then have to wait. All bets are off at that point.
