My IVF cycle was almost a bust because at my ER they discovered that I had already O'd 5 of the 9 eggs we were expecting. If I do IVF again, I want to make sure this doesn't happen. Were you on an ovulation suppressant? What's it called? Do you take it up until ER?
During stims all I took was gonal f (and some lupron at the beginning)
ETA: Sorry, just consulted my notes. My memory is bad, I took 1/2 dose lupron from starting stims to ER.
Re: IVF Q - ovulation supressant?
Sorry, I just edited my original post. Mommy brain I guess ... I took 1/2 dose lupron from starting stims to ER.
Lupron should have suppressed you to the point where you needed to trigger before releasing eggs It may be a matter of needing a higher dose to make sure you are suppressed enough.
You can also use ganerelix or Cetrotide mid cycle, but usually that protocol is used for poorer responders
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Hmm, I think this is what he will probably have me do.
Interesting. I think my response is pretty unusual. I don't know if you remember, but I was SO upset when I found out this happened. I thought there was no way it would actually work with only 4 eggs. I was also shocked ... I had been prepared for about a million other bad things but I'd never heard of this.
I did that too for my 1st 2 cycles, then switched to ganrelix (sp?) for the 3rd, which was an antagonist protocol.
