What's the rule with alcohol and BFing?

We're having a happy hour for work on Monday and I'd like to indulge in a , if possible. What's the rule with alcohol and breastfeeding?

If you're having one drink, I wouldn't worry at all about it. If you want to have more than one, then my general rule of thumb is to wait an hour per drink.

If I am good to drive, I'm good to nurse.

One glass of wine is usually fine. With hard liquor, I usually use a one drink, wait 2 hours rule. At any time if you feel even a little tipsy, your milk is too drunk for the baby too.

They sell strips at HEB for testing too. They're pricey but worth it. TIP! the testing pad is pretty large, you can cut them in half and still see the color change. Doubles their use. Every time I've ever used them, I feel plenty sober and there's a color change. I wait an hour or two and then it doesn't show up. I'm not a good judge of my sobriety apparently (DH would tell you he could have told you that).

My doc said pretty much the same thing what the pps said. She's says if I have enough drinks to get "buzzed' wait 2 hrs and I should be good.

So if I pump around 4:30, have a drink around 5:30 and BF LO around 7:30, I should be good, right? I only planning on drinking one martini.

I would think you would be fine, but I can't remember how much alcohol is in a martini.  I go with one drink (one shot) one hour from the time I finish it.  Martinis have more alcohol in them though, right?
