My night last night (bomb detecting robots mentioned)

Last night our apartment building was evacuated due to an alleged bomb at the police station directly across the street.

At around 9:30pm (right smack dab in the middle of 'Lost,' mind you) we hear purposeful banging on our door and DH opens it to find an Officer. Officer says "Folks, we need you to evacuate the building. A package was left outside the police station across the street and we believe it contains explosives." We wound up walking a few blocks, in our pjs, to a pub for a couple of hours. As we're walking we note that all streets within a four or so block radius have been blocked off with squad cars and they've changed all the stoplights to flashing red. Yikes!

We decide to head back to the apartment and we find out from someone with an iphone (to check local news) that, at around 8:30 pm, some guy was seen praying on a flattened cardboard box outside the police station. When the police searched the guy they found anti-American literature on him and instructions on bomb-building. They also found a backpack containing something suspicious. Bomb robots were brought in and they eventually secured the "package." FYI - bomb robots look sort of like Johnny Five. Kind of cute.

In any case, we wound up sitting outside our apartment for several hours. We weren't able to go to our cars and leave, as our parking area is directly across the street from said police station.
