Replacing velcro on BG?

I know you can order replacement velcro kits, but I also found a blog that showed how to convert them to have snaps instead.  Has anyone here tried this?  How do they hold up?  And can a completely non-crafty person do this?

    I think it's fairly easy with the right tools! I was about to do this, but then my diapers are having other issues (see my post above) so I'm not sure now if I am going to just have to replace them all anyway. I hate velcro though b/c it just does not hold up no matter what you do! :( But it's so easy at the same time! ugh

    I had someone do my BGs. Amanda Hearn on here does them.

    I love it. It's so much better. Get them switched.

    Yup, it's easy to convert to snaps.  I'm not particularly crafty either.
