Any other NICU moms in here??

Are you or your OB doing anything different to help prevent it this time?

DS was 6 weeks early. My biggest fear is our next LO being in the NICU as well. I would feel guilty for leaving DS and guilty for not being with LO all the time.

Dd was not premature, but she was in the NICU for several days due to an infection.  I was lucky enough to be able to go home with her and not have to leave her there.  I am going with a scheduled c-section this time as with my first I developed an infection in my placenta which I passed to her.  She also had a traumatic delivery and meconium in the water, all leading her her stay in the NICU.

Luckily, DD never made it into the NICU (went into pre-term labor at 29 weeks so it was a major possibility).  I was able to keep her in until 36 weeks.  But yes, doing EVERYTHING differently this time around....we're talking to a high-risk OB about possible preventative measures for me.

Hey I don't have any experience with NICU (and I'm sooo hoping you won't this time around!!!), but I noticed something on your siggy about make or break b/w on April 1st. What is that about?? Evertying ok??

My MW and I are discussing the p17 shots. I'm not excited about it but if it means I get to take home my baby when I leave, it'll be worth it. I guess. ;-)

My hcG hasn't doubled properly and my progesterone was dropping. I'm on Prometrium right now that basically keeps me pregnant unless I stop it. If my levels aren't at a good place tomorrow, I'll be taken off the supplement and a m/c will happen. Tomorrows results will determine if the pregnancy is viable or not. Then next week (if pregnancy is continued) we'll see if there is a heartbeat and a bleed (like last time).

Thanks! Ever since the m/c I don't really pray, but I certainly appreciate anyone who prays for me. Recent events (since DS's birth really) have given me a crisis of faith.

Thanks! Ever since the m/c I don't really pray, but I certainly appreciate anyone who prays for me. Recent events (since DS's birth really) have given me a crisis of faith. 

 

I can certainly understand that. I really hope that everything goes more smoothly this time and that tomorrow yields positive, healthy results! T&P!!!!!!! GL!!!
