Success after IF

not head down at 35 wks?

Should I be worried about this?  Doc thinks baby is somewhere between transverse and head down, head is down but not in my pelvis, kinda at an angle right now.  Doc said I'll be coming in every week now (not a big deal since I was already schedule for every 2) and eventually he'll schedule an u/s  but he wanted to wait a bit for that.  Anyone been through this?  At what point should I worry?

Re: not head down at 35 wks?

  • I believe my peri said she should be head down by 34w.  However, my sister's baby wasn't head down at 37w, but ended up flipping by the time she delivered at 39w.

  • Not what you want to hear, but my daughter never flipped after that point.

  • E was transverse until 36 weeks. And I definitely felt when she flipped head down. It was the strangest feeling!

ETA: Because she was measuring small, my OB wasn't too worried since there was still room for her to turn.

  • In my Bradley classes we were told that if baby was like this to start doing squats regularly and lots of walking. They open your pelvis and encourage the baby to get down in there! Good luck!
  • Jacob was still breech at 35w!  I totally thought I was in for a c/s.  But at 36w, he was head down and totally engaged!  Hope she makes that journey soon!

  • I was just told today that I didn't need to worry about it until 36 weeks, so you still have a little time.

Also, have you ever been to a chiropractor?  I've been seeing one regularly for years and at my appointment this week he told me that his practice has had a lot of success doing adjustments on pregnant women with breech babies and getting them to turn on their own.  My mom had an external version with my youngest sister and while it worked, it didn't sound pleasant.  If needed, I will definitely start at the chiro and see what he can do.

I hope baby gets turned around soon!
