My baby used to wake up almost every 2 to 3 hrs on the dot to eat through the night. My boy was an eating machine and still is. During the day he eats about 6 oz (formula) every 3 to 4 hrs. Sometimes he gets hungry in between that period and he will have a 4 oz bottle as a "snack"in between his 6 oz feedings and then we will go another 2 hrs and by then he will be ready for his 6oz bottle. Okay so I have a growing boy I know that, I think he eats ALOT for his age. I asked my pedi and she says feed him when he's hungry. I cannot over feed him at this age and I totally agree with her, so I do.
But this is not what I am concerned about. I'm concerned or let's say a little weirded out by his sleeping habits. All of a sudden now he doesn't wake up through the night at all to eat. He goes to sleep about 10ish or 1030ish and he will not wake up until anywhere between 8:30- 9:30 the next morning. I know that I should be completely ecstatic that I am finally getting some good rest. But I keep reading how babies at this age sleep an average of 5 to 6 hr intervals if we are lucky. My baby is sleeping as much as 9 or 10 hours. Even as I type this we put him down at about 10 last night and he is still asleep. So needless to say I have no more nighttime feedings.
Is this normal? Is this bad that I don't wake him up to feed at night? I mean the kid eats alot throughout the day. My son is probably between 14-15 lbs right now and he's not even 3 months yet. Should he be sleeping this long at his age?
Or should I stop worrying and just count my blessings??
