My niece who is 7 months met my dog last weekend.  She would get so excited whenever my dog came by her.

We don't know for sure but the rescue had her labeled as a dachshund/basset hound mix.  When her litter was turned in the owner said they were dachshund mixes. 

My vet thinks the had beagle instead of basset in her, which I think the same.

I totally read that as "which I think is the same".  I almost threw a fit.  I have a basset and people ALWAYS ask if he's a beagle.  Your pup is totally adorable.

I've seen siggy pics with your dog before and I knew right away that he was a basset.  That is interesting that people think he is beagle.  Does he look smaller than an average basset?

My grandma once owed a dog that was basset/beagle mix and she said he was the best dog she has ever had.  I think my dogs legs are too long to be basset but if she were I would be happy since everything I have read said that basset hounds have great temperaments.
