Okay, I had a friend that I was very close to in college.  She was even a bridesmaid in my wedding.  I was a bridesmaid in her wedding too.

Her and her husband divorced after 6 months.  She said I was not there for her, which is probably true because I didn't really know what to say.

Around that same time she became very close with a mutual friend that had just had a baby.

We have stayed in contact all this time, we just aren't really that close anymore.

All of a sudden, now that I am having a baby, she is all over me again.  She calls me weekly, sends me messages on FB, makes dinner plans with me (and actually keeps them).

I am starting to wonder if this is all just coincidence or not.

Sometimes I think babies help reconnect people and reopen relationships.

I'm not unhappy about it, I am just confused.  I have tried to reach out to her several times.  Every time I make plans, she cancels them.  Now all of sudden she has the time.  I just don't get it.

Maybe she just wasn't ready to be social or felt awkward about what happened between you and her.  The baby gives something new to talk about a focus on.
