I've never seen it, but I can see myself having both of your reactions.  I had a friend in middle school who would freak out in an immature giggly way anytime anyone said come.  Like, "hey, you, come over here," she would act like we were being perverted. 

 I  find lots of teen behavior annoying.

I think it depends on the kid.  There are some who are just lazy and use it to shorten come, whereas there are others that just are being immature. 

Either way, it is annoying.
