feeling guilty?

so as much as i appreciate this, it makes me feel horribly guilty. MIL has had the kiddos since about 1pm and she said she would keep them over nite so DH and I can actually sleep and maybe spend a little time together. i have loaded her up with ebm and we are heading over there to say goodnite since DH just got off of work... BUT it makes me feel like i am pawning my responsibilities off on someone else (she did offer though) and i miss them sooooo much (thought i KNOW i need the break desperately!)  ugh! sorry...i just feel bad :-(

Re: feeling guilty?

  • We were never actually away from them but at least half a dozen times in the first three months my dad would come out and take "baby duty" all night long. Monte and I would get up for feedings, I would pump and they would each bottle feed a baby, but he would hold and rock them when they were up in between. You have to sleep some in order to be the best mom you can!

  • with 2 newbies, you deserve this break!  i'm sure you will miss them, but try to enjoy your 'alone time' with DH, and get some rest!  Good luck!

  • I have left Kate over night with my mom twice.  Sometimes you just have  got to get some sleep!
