I'm so angry with my boss (kinda long)

So some of you may or may not know but about a month ago I got a promotion at my job which requires me to travel. My boss is cheap so unless I asked for more money I wouldnt get it. Last week before my first business trip I spoke with my boss about increasing my pay. He gave me an option of making more hourly OR becoming salary. He told me to think about it and let him know when I got back from Chicago. Well while I was in Chicago is when I had my miscarriage and I wound up leaving early because emotionally/physically I just couldnt handle it.

So I had to meet with him today to discuss what happened. There very supportive of my decision to have a baby now that they know and there going to have me still plan all of the events for the company but the ones out of town I no longer have to travel to so that I'm not put in this situation again. So when I brought up the raise that they offered me he basically said that there retracting there offer and are going to keep me at my current salary for now. I just don't feel that its fair that since I may get pregnant and not be able to travel that there not paying me more. I'm still going to be doing all the planning and work I just wont physically be at the events. Its ridiculous and I'm annoyed!

That is complete bullsh!t....I would look into the employment laws and rules and see if that is even allowed...I would seriously rip him a new one and get the raise you deserve!

I'm trying to be positive and focus on the fact that my bosses are totally supportive of me wanting a baby and are willing to make my job easier for when I get pregnant again but I still think its total BS that there not paying me more money!

I completely agree. I told him that I don't know how long it will take me to get pregnant again. Especially with me only having one working tube it could take a while. I'm fine with the traveling and I don't understand why I can't just continue to do my job how I have been and when/if I get pregnant again we can deal with it then.

Something very similar happened to me at my old job. I had to basically take on all these extra responsibilities with out the new title or pay increase (even though it was promised to me). I talked to my boss, and her boss, and HR, with no help. I ended up just staying there for a while longer for the experience and leaving for a better job.

So maybe try talking to HR, I am sure this could be considered some sort of discrimination. And if that doesn't work, look for a new job if you can. Sorry, it's a crappy situation to be in.
