Re: When you hear the name...

  • The -lyn makes it 100% feminine IMO.
  • the lyn part makes it feminine but I really consider it a last name.

Yup. If you want to make it a boy name, spell it 'Quinlan'. Neither are my style though.

  • I picked girl because of the lynn but I really don't like it at all.
  • neither, I think it's awful.
  • I have also heard Quenlynn which is pretty too.
  • Quinnlyn is a girl to me because of the -lyn.  Quinn is a boy to me so I'd be nervous about that boyish nickname.
  • Sorry but I don't like it at all for either sex. It rhymes for goodness sake...

  • The "y" definitely makes it more feminine (following the current trend, at least). "Quinlan" is a guy's name. Although, unlike some pp, I wouldn't worry about "Quinn" being a masculine nn. I know of several females with that name, including one of the main characters on Glee.
  • Definitely makes me think of a girl...

  • When I hear the name,I think boy but when I see the spelling I think girl.I do think with the -lyn at the end it does kind of look made up.I know it isn't,it just looks awkward to me.
