Success after IF

First Seder=FAIL!

We took the babies to the ILs for Passover, it was their first time meeting the whole family. It was 10 adults and 5 small kids.....and apparently too loud for our LOs. They SCREAMED nearly the entire time. Inconsolable. Tears. Ugh, it was so darn rough.

It was so nice to have them meet everyone and to have the whole family together, but we are going to bow out on the second Seder tonight. Babies need to recover, and so does mama.

Maybe they were just trying to answer the questions?? Wink  I don't blame you for bowing out tonight. I'd need time to recover too.  Enjoy a nice night at home :)

  • Sorry it wasn't ideal! If it makes you feel better, Toodle wasn't a fan either. He had fun for the first 15 minutes or so but at that point he decided it was time to EAT (and not just the puffs we gave him). Then he got sick of brisket and went BSC. Not to mention my (half Catholic) nephew spent most of the seder pointing to the eggs on the seder plate and saying "Bobby's eggs!". LOL.

  • Your kids are 2 months old- I'd give them a break!  Mine is 2 1/2 years old and couldn't sit through it either.  However, instead of screaming and crying, he started throwing things; the Hagaddah, the silverware - oh yeah- it was fun.  He only calmed down when the cookies came out.  We're bowing out tonight too.  We'll try again next year at 3 1/2.

Elijah should have fun at Passover- will he get to open the door every year and drink from the cup?  I love his name!

3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.

lol, the other kids 'did it for him' this year! Poor kid, a whole life of jokes at Passover:)

Yeah, I actually think part of the fun of Passover is watching all the kids get antsy and then bribed to sit still:)

Bribery works well.  So does looking for the Afikomen.  My son got $20 for it and I basically showed him where I hid it.  If I had known he was going to get $20, I would have found it and kept the money!!  I got .50 cents when I was a kid!

  • This happened to us on Rosh Hashanah... DD was about 2 1/2ish months old and screamed bloody murder the entire time. We almost took her to the ER because we couldn't get her to stop for anything (and of course, I have my grandmother, step-mother, aunt, and everyone all "helping") I'm hoping she's more of a fan of matzah than apples and honey :)
