If I were to do a bike ride for the American Diabeties Association, would you be interested in supporting me? I need you to keep me in check and make sure I ride daily. I have to ride a min. of 4 miles. I have not rode a bike in 10+ years.
I also would need donations. How would I go about asking family and friends for that?

Re: Need support in the silly sense
I will volunteer to e-kick your ass through 4 miles a day if you need me to. If I were there I'd drive my car next to you and play the radio really loud for support. LOL
You can totally do it in time. Biking 4 miles sounds like a lot, but it's not really. As long as it's not straight uphill, I think you'll be great!

4 miles a day isn't bad. When I was riding everyday, we would do 4 miles in about 40 minutes. Even if you're not used to it, you should be able to do 4 miles in under an hour. And I'd be happy to e-kick your butt.
Fundraising ideas - make it part of your email signature with a link to the donation page. That way, you're not *really* bugging or pressuring people, but it's still out there.
I should clerify. I have to bike a min. of 4 miles to do the ride. I can bike whatever I want at home.
Good idea on the email. I was thinking of doing a facebook thing too.
Anyone want to toss $1 to a paypal account? lol
We can do up to 100 miles. I am setting my goal low just incase.
We only have 16,32 or 75 miles. Last year I only had about 6 weeks to be able to get to 32 miles. And I was able to do 32 miles in about 2 hours.
What kind of bike do you have?
do you have a helmet?
I would start with a mile ride tonight, do you have an ipod? If you do & you plan to listen to it only have one earbud in. also you cant use it on the day of. Let me know if you have any Q's.
We are going to start in the morning. Right now I am borrowing my cousin's bike, until this weekend. We are going to go buy me a bike. We had planned on starting to ride this summer and getting use to be back on the bike. It just took us by surprise they moved the bike ride up. DH rides all the time.
I don't plan on using an IPOD, because I am not talented enough to ride and listen to music. lol
Just my 2cents I would not get a mountian bike, I would go with a hybyrd type bike. I think you will be amazed at how easy 4 miles is.
Good luck
