P used to like it all (well, not so much cake), but he used to like candy, cookies, icecream. Now, it's hit and miss. He will say yes to a cupcake (if other's are eating it) take one bite and be done.
He says icecream is too cold (unless it's superhero icecream) and he has never been a fan of chocolate (on occasion m&m's are okay).
I just find this so strange. I wonder if he will eat popsicles this summer.
He eats great otherwise and I'm definitely not complaining, but it's just strange to me.
Re: Anyone else with a dc that doesn't like sweets?
My DS doesn't like sweets either. I blame myself lol. I never really offered him candy, cakes & cookies when he was younger- mostly just fruits and that is what he prefers. Not to long ago we were at the grocery store & they had free sugar cookies. I offered him the cookie & he said "sure" he just held it & then saw the samples of watermelon & said "Mommy I want that not this"
He's had 3 birthdays and has yet tried his birthday cake! During Halloween not one piece of candy. Recently I made some rice krispie treats & he will eat those but nothing else really. Ithink it is kinda funny considering how much I love sweets- all kinds!
He is really a good eater & I believe he is more drawn to salty foods. Now if you offer him a chip or a french fry he can't run fast enough to get one of those!
Given the option, dd would much rather have something salty. She eats frosting but not cake. She will eat ice cream. But I have never seen a kid that hates chocolate like she does. Even when we go out to dinner she tells the waitress/waiter at least 3 times that she wants white milk not chocolate.
