D.C. Area Babies

**BabyHatch**

You mentioned that your DD isn't trying to stand much yet.  I just wanted to let you know that DS was odd in that he didn't learn how to stand up on his own (in the middle of a room) until about 2 weeks after he started walking.  He had been letting go of furniture and standing for a while, but hadn't ever learned to stand up without pulling up.

So, if he happened to fall while walking far from furniture, he had to crawl to the nearest object to stand up and walk again.

Re: **BabyHatch**

  • Thanks, Agrippa. That's good to know. It's funny how kids will either bypass a skill or do it out of order!

I should have learned by now not to google everything so much but I definitely sent myself into a panic last night when I googled "baby walking" and it led to 30 minutes of reading about "toe walking" and links to autism spectrum disorders. DD stands on her toes a lot but I hear from all of my friends this is normal. Arggggh, stupid internet! :-)
