Like what are some good recipes and how do you make them. For some reason I have cake balls on the brain and I think I might want to make them for Easter. But I really know nothing about them. I've never had them or even seen them.
I'm thinking I may try cake pops instead. Because my truffles and balls never turn out pretty and I think it would be so much easier on a stick!
I just saw this on bakerella. I've never even heard of cake pops before. She has really cute bunny ones that would be great for Easter. But I don't know if I'd be that skillful at decorating.
Buck: cake pops are harder than balls. You have to figure out how to keep the cake on the stick while you turn it practically upside down to stick it in the chocolate. I had cake all in my chocolate last year.
Balls are easier.
Also, I think you need to put some shortening in your chocolate when you melt it. I think your chocolate was too thick when you made your Christmas balls and that's why it was so hard for you. If you put a bit of shortening in, the chocolate will get a little thinner and take a little longer to dry but will harden completely like normal.

My mom used to put edible parafin wax in with her chocolate. It made them shiny and harden more fully.
Re: Let's talk about Cake Balls for a minute
Go to www.bakerella.com - she has detailed instructions.
I've never tried them myself, but they look delicious!
*balls*
Ha
Yes, she has very good instructions. This is the recipe that I made, and everyone loved them. They were messy to make, but pretty easy. Enjoy!
Haha, I was laughing while typing because if I took "cake" out of the sentence I just wrote that I had balls on the brain. LOL!
I have had these in all chocolate, chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, dipped in chocolate.
DELICIOUS.
Mmm, this looks delicious. I think I will be doing this or a variation on this. Cake balls, here I come!
This is the sense I'm getting. Delicious!
