Where can I find different types of prenatal exercise classes? I live in Mckinney, I prefer to stay close to home, but I'm happy to travel as far out to dallas, if need be. I was looking to take a few classes, since my Dr. says I'm gaining too much weight in my pregnancy. So I figured I'd take yoga, swimming, and some form of excercise class. Everything I see if yoga, so I'd like to try a class that gives me more of a work out too. Anyone have any suggestions? Please send me names, websites, and numbers... I appreciate all the help Ladies!
Re: Prenatal exercise place???
I am taking Prenatal Yoga at the Tom Landry Fitness Center in Dallas. Cheryl is amazing and is quickly becoming one of my good friends. Classes are a bit over an hour at 10am Saturday mornings. Also, you do not have to be a member to take classes. I believe it is $15/class, but I pay about $80 for 6 classes. I also take deep water movement with Cheryl at Baylor.
If thats too far, check out local yoga studios. Yoga has been a huge part of my pregnancy and I'm so grateful so far.
can you not just join a gym and work out like normal in a regular exercise class? you dont have to do a "prenatal class".
i go to lifetime fitness at 121/lake forest. i love it. the classes are phenomenal.
Well my doctor told me I'm only allowed to go low impact type of classes, so low impact aerobics is okay if I can find a place to do it, a bike class, swimming, etc... but I don't want to pay a huge amount of money for classes for a gym membership. So does lifetime fitness offer classes like that, that aren't crazy expensive? I can only work out on Wednesday, Thursdays before 7pm, and anytime on Saturdays and Sundays.
they have swim aerobics!
but i understand about the price - LTF is $65/mo (i think) without kids.
have you checked out the new fitness center off of custer/eldorado? its only about $30/month and from what i read, they have a ton of classes
when are you due?
I live right off of Custer and Virginia, so funny you'd suggest that. But no what place are you referring to? Lifetime? or some place else?
$65 a month isn't bad for lifetime... are the classes they provide extra? Or do they come free with a monthly membership?
I'm due July 11th.
Thanks for all the help : )
at LTF they come with the membership. and actually - so do the yoga and pilates classes now. you can go to their site to see the schedules
and kids are only $7? i dunno - under $10/month for all childcare after 3months old!
and let me say - i LOVE it there. we have been members since dd1 was 5mo old and its fantastic. the staff is great, the classes can kick your butt - and im still doing them now at 34wks!
and the place at custer/eldorado is called texas family fitness? or something? its in that strip mall that starbucks/UPS store is in.
hey - is their childcare split? ie: different ages? (lol ive always wondered this)
no problem. i hope you like it! and message me with any questions!
