Talk to me about spray tans

BIL is getting married at the end of April and I want to spray tan a few times before it. I am getting a Mystic spray tan, so I am wondering how many times do you typically go to build a decent color? Also, any tips you have from experience I'd love to hear. TIA!

  • If you are very fair skinned you will turn orange...  if the doctors ok it I've used the aveeno lotion in the past for fair skin and got subtle glow.  For teh most part I just embrace my pastey skin.

  • Don't do it! Unless you're already fairly tan skinned, spray tans make you look like an oompa loompa.

  • the best fake tan I ever got was an actual Spa Treatment called Body Bronzing. They rub down your entire body & exfoliate you first, then rub all the tanning stuff onto your skin.

It's awesome (feels sooo good) and looks MUCH better than any spray tan. I did it a few days prior to our wedding & I was nice & tan for the day of the wedding. And it didn't rub off on my dress. Which was nice!

it's pricier for sure - but worth it if you really want some color.

  • I would find a place that does airbrush tanning if you want a spray tan.  They do a MUCH better job!

I've done the mystic tan and if you have any places on your body that have wrinkles (under your chin or by your armpits) it will be white. I prefer the airbrush tanning because they can get the right shade and do a better job of coverage.

The place I go only charges $30 but we live in a very rural area...

I'm not normally fair skinned and I tan pretty easily. If it was nice enough out I would try to get some sun before then but where I live that isn't looking too good. I think I am going to chance it and try one this Friday that way I can see how well it works a few weeks before the wedding.
