making tofu for dinner

its my first time cooking with it (i love eating it) and we're having ginger glazed tofu, supposed to be grilled but its freezing and raining so its getting fried, with brown rice stir-fry (added carrots and snap peas).

i didn't like dinner last night. chicken with rice noodles. it tasted terrible (too much something like lime juice and ginger since i omitted the "heat" peppers. oops)

Re: making tofu for dinner

  • I have never tried grilling tofu....  sounds very interesting.  Do you have the recipe handy?

  • its from the allergy-free cookbook. it was really easy and really really yummy.

you get ginger teriyaki sauce and hard tofu. you drain and press the tofu for 30 mins (cut in half, then each slice into 2 triangles) then lay it in a 1/2 cup of the sauce and marinate for 30 mins.

cook up some brown rice. in a pan take 1/2 cup sauce(the ginger teriyaki) add some diced carrots and snap peas till cooked then add the cooked brown rice and stir till mixed (remove from heat).

add tofu to a grilling pan on medium-high heat and cook for 6-8 mins (about 4 mins on each side).

then serve the tofu over the rice. Delish! (DH went back for seconds)
