disclaimer:  I probably will re-test because I'm a spaz but I guess I just want opinions.

we went to dr. S's office two weeks ago - my lining looked good, the egg of the month looked good.  the NP told us to do our "homework" between x-y days, and I got an HCG shot in the arse.  she said I could test two weeks from the appt, so today...but I got a BFN.  do I bother re-testing, say on friday? did anyone get a BFN then a BFP a few days later?  I think I read this is somewhat common.

I seriously have no patience.

OMG!!! Sorry for the BFN but I would definitely retest. I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you and your DH!!!

eh, it is what it is - just kind of a PITA because I have to get checked and whatnot.  but I guess it takes the guesswork out of everything, doesn't it?

and I guess I'm officially coming out of hiding.

I tested first on a Thursday or Friday and it was a BFN, and then I tried again that following Monday and got a BFP.

I had Dr. S's office monitor my ovulation, too.  It was a weird feeling because I felt like they really, REALLY wanted me to do it that way, but I wanted to get pregnant so badly that I did it and it worked... twice.  So, no complaints here.  Going in there every couple of weeks was a PITA though, agreed.

I am going to assume that you are using the regular drugstore tests and that you haven't gone Psycho Level 6 like me and bought the little cheap strips off of the internet.  With this pregnancy, I didn't find out that I had a bun in the oven until like day 19 or some shizz because the strips I bought were faulty-- I tested until 15DPO and the suckers were stark white.  Then I gave up and went drinking.  A lot.  Then a few days later I wondered why I hadn't gotten my period yet so I POAS again, on a FRER and, low and behold, there was the darkest line I've ever seen in my life.  I tested at the same time with a strip and got the faaaaiiinnttest little line ever.

All this to ask, "What kind of test are you using?  It matters." And, also, "Don't hit up the bottle just yet, you might be pregnant and not know it."  OH, and, my fingers and toes are crossed for you and its hard to walk this way!

I bought the target-brand POAS kind.  yay/nay?  I bought one from the dollar store but didn't like having to pee in the cup - I'd rather pony over a few extra bucks and go the easier route.

I got a BFN when I was due to start AF, then a BFP a week later. I waited a week b/c I did not have any idea I was pg. Good luck!!!

Test again on Friday.  If you got the HCG shot two weeks ago today then you aren't even 14DPO... you are prob about 12DPO.  You COULD get a BFP at 12DPO, but with one of my pregnancies I got a negative at 12 and a positive at 14. 

So, Friday, you will test with first morning urine.  If that is negative, then test again with second morning urine (SMU works best for me), and then post your results.  TIA!
