Austin Babies

**CJ**

I was pondering your "feeding solids" stress while pulling weeds outside =)  While I never worried too much about it at the time, I am getting concerned that DD not only has no interest in the potty but is now resisting etc. I try to remind myself of something I heard a comedian say on the issue. It was part of a whole rant about how parents should just relax. I forget the exact line but basically he said this about potty training "Why do we worry so much about it? I mean, how many people did you go to college with who just didn't get it!?"

I guess I was thinking that you could just remind yourself of that. How many kids did you know in Pre-K who didn't eat food and were still on formula =)?

That is all.

  • ::butting in::  Taytee, you are so right!  I always remind myself of Little Bo Peep and her sheep,

"Leave them alone and they'll come home.  Wagging their tails behind them"

If you keep pushing someone, a child, anyone, to do something they will most likely resist.  But leave them alone and most of the time they will come to it on their own.

  • Well said, thank you!!  I know I spend WAY too much mental energy stressing about this kind of stuff, and I'm very OCD about the "timetable."  I know I need to chill out a lot of the time... I'm just prone to be anxious about these things unfortunately.  But you are so right!  Thanks for the reminder. :)
