I've made a rope toy for the dog before w/ them, and I've cut them into smaller towel-sized things to dust with. DH just cleaned out his dresser and he has a lot - though nothing nice enough to donate really.
I'm wondering if there is a way to make a cute dress or something for DD (he has a lot of faded old UT shirts that might look "retro" if I do it right.
Any other ideas?
Re: WTD w/ tons of old t-shirts?
maybe a rug?
we've given our 'sentimental but no longer wearable" tshirts to my stepmom for her to make a tshirt blanket from them, but I don't know if it's actually going to happen.
Washable washclothes for DD's face or use-and-toss for bath or while out.
There are companies that will turn them into quilts. Do you have enough that are cool enough for that?
Maybe a blanket?
There is an advertisement of a company that takes old running race tshirts and will turn it into a quilt for you. It costs a pretty penny to do so but the end result is kinda cool.

thanks for the ideas! Fjaril - I think yours wins - that looks pretty cute and easy for a novice like me.
I also found this - how to make an old shirt into yoga pants:
