Not that I'm itching to shove a pbj in his mouth, but I would like to quit worrying about an allergy. Neither DH's family or I have any history, and I would like to stop being paranoid about nuts in general.
With my first right at 2. Now with my 2nd hmmm I would not be surprised if he was already exposed from DD...And I will probably give it to him before 2.
I'm glad you asked. The doctor told me not to until 2 years old. But she's had a few tastes of peanut butter and no reaction. Can't I just give it to her now?

We have no family history of allergy on either side (that I know of) and DD has had PB and had a mild reaction right at two y/o. My question is when can we try again? GL!
our pedi said 15 months. i think i'd accidentally exposed her to nuts earlier, like in granola bars or whatever. i gave her full on peanut butter last week and she was fine. we also had no known family allergies
Mine has had a PB&J sandwich way before 2. I didn't know you were supposed to wait until 2. Neither side of the family has an allergy anyway. I say as a mom, you do what you feel comfortable with. Austin loves PB&J!! :-)

My kids both love pb&j and we've had pb&j for dinner more times than I should admit. I don't remember waiting until two though. I think I waited until one year.
I think Rhett had it around 18 months - no family allergies and he did fine with it.

We waited until 2 with DD, DS hasn't had it yet. However, we started him on foods cooked in peanut oil around 14 months as an introduction, which pedi said was a great way to start. In our case, it was Chick-fil-a and Mighty Fine fries

You know, I wondered about Chick-fil-a! She's had it with no issues and I'm guessing she's had other things cooked in peanut oil. Interesting!

I had no idea Chick Fila was cooked in Peanut oil either. He's had a few bites of nuggests from there....so I guess he's probably fine then.
DH gave nuts to DD (almonds, cashews and peanuts) before she was 2. I had no idea - but she had zero reaction. So - she's been eating nuts since then w/o issue.
we waited until a year for lily. eve had it a few weeks ago on accident (big sister = pb&j crust on the floor. she's fine, but hasn't started to eat it consistently yet (she'll be 1 in a few weeks)
Re: moms of toddlers- when for peautbutter?

GL!
My pedi says 2, but my BFF has given her daughter PB since she was just over a year.
We have no allergies either, but I'm in no hurry, so I'll just wait a few more months.
It was after a year and I think before a year an half that H had some nuts and I just let him try the pb (actually started with Almond butter).

Abby swiped some at daycare before 18m and FIL gave her some. Otherwise we'd have waited until age 2. We'll try to for Emily.
