We see them about once a year. Maybe less. They live in Michigan.
But when we lived in Michigan it was every month because they are freakin insane and have a huge family party every freaking month. Who wants to see their family that often? My family doesn't even get together for holidays anymore, so I think my inlaws are weird.

The weekly option is terrifying to me. That's what my inlaws expect and I think weekly and monthly are way too often. Neither of us particularly enjoy spending time with them (MIL specifically), we always have to drive to them an hour away, their house is always dirty/messy and there are always chores to do. The last invitation included a "nice meal if we help with the yard, flower beds and gutters." Not exactly my ideal weekend-we have enough to do around our own home. I'd prefer to just see them on major holidays and then occassionally in between but a weekly/monthly expected schedule is my worst nightmare.
Unfortunately we see the IL's every week or two. We usually meet them for crappy breakfast on Sunday's and then they guilt trip DH into manual labor at their disgusting/dirty house.
oops. i voted before i fully read it. i voted for major holiday, but that's because my ILs live in Florida. if they lived here i'd probably see them weekly or biweekly. but i also really like my inlaws.
They live 10 minutes away and we have dinner with them every Wednesday night. I don't mind it. They are different, but really nice.

oops me too. except my in-laws don't live in florida.
Mine are 3 hours away in Houston, but they adore their grandbabies so we've been seeing them pretty frequently lately (1-2 times/month). I've come to really appreciate the extra hands now that I have two, so that's fine by me.

I voted other. I see them on major holidays and birthdays and random other times for babysitting. DH sees them at least 3-4 times a month when I don't, though. MIL comes over or they go out to lunch while I'm at work. It's the perfect arrangement, really.
We see both of our families weekly, generally. My dad & stepmom live across the street from us & we typically see them once a week or more just for short periods. DH's family is in town too, we see them once or twice a week.

My IL's live in Manor and we see them every 2-3 weeks. Before A, we saw them once every couple months. It has been a HUGE adjustment getting used to spending so much time with them, but I'm getting more and more okay with it.

Same here except MIL lives in Dallas. Pre-kids it was once every few months at most. After kids it is once a month and that is only because I put my foot down and said she can not come more often than that. I think it would actually be easier if she lived closer because then she would not have to spend the whole weekend with us when she did come.

She stays with you for the weekend once a month? Yikes-you are really generous because even if you like her, that's hard to have someone staying at your house once a month I think. I definitely need my space. I can't believe how many see inlaws so often-yours must not be crazy!!

Yep, she stays with us the entire weekend once a month. I do like her but she is crazy! She was asking to come about every other weekend when Abby was 1st born and I told DH absolutely not. It is a pain having her here for 3 days once a month but we try to make the most of it. We usually have a date night on the Saturday nights she is here, at least it is a free babysitter.
Re: Poll: How often do you see your inlaws?
Rarely at best. My MIL lives in South Austin and isn't allowed to talk to me becuase she pissed me off during the wedding planning.
I still haven't forgiven her.
It's heaven.

this. we usually eat at Trudy's every friday night (except during lent). i love my in laws and seeing them several times a week would be fine with me.
Why isn't 'too often' an option.

Maybe once a year. I am perfectly fine with that though. ;-) My parents we see at least every 2-3 months. We live far away from all family, it sucks!
