Just had my BPP/NST...

BPP was fine today.. both babies passed

The nurse on maternity said that I was having quite a few contractions during my NST.. and when she looked back at my NST from last week, I was also contracting (but no one told me) they checked with my doctor and he said since I wasn't feeling them I'm good to go home.. is this normal to have contractions and not feel them? I know it's not labor contractions but I was just a bit taken back...

 the nurse also said that my strip was not a great read, there were SOME acels but not many.. but since I wasn't 32 weeks yet she's not worried... uhh, I'll be 32 weeks this Thursday.. and I have no idea what she meant by that...

    I am glad your first BPP went well.  I have my first one on Thursday.  Is your cervix holding steady?  Take care :)

    I've had contractions on the monitors without knowing it.  This really worried me but when I was in the hospital on bed rest, the nurses and doctors kept reassuring me that if I couldn't feel the contractions, then chances are they are not strong enough to cause any cervix changes.  Since your doctor and nurses aren't concerned, I'm sure you're fine!

    they are checking it once a month.. 3 weeks ago or so it was long and closed.. I get it checked again next week.. how often are they checking your cervix?

    My doctor told me the acels were not a big deal unless the heartbeat stayed in that high range.  I think it's normal when the babies move for their heartrate to go up a bit.  Yes, it is normal to not feel contractions when you're only 32 weeks.  They're not strong enough to feel yet.

    totally normal not to feel all the bh.  i felt tons, and when getting NSTs i often didn't feel some of them.

    it's hard to get accels for 2 babies.  maybe a little too small still, and moving around, and hard to tell which is which...

    it's normal to worry about these things, too :)

    They have only looked at mine via u/s and only at growth u/s.  I have my next one on Thursday.  Last time I had a growth u/s was 26 weeks and 6 days I think they said my cervix was 2.75 but long and closed.  Did they estimate your twins weights?

    Every time I go for NSTs, they show that I'm contracting.  They are BHs because they don't hurt, but they register very high on the NST, some register at a 10!  The nurses usually ask me if I'm in pain or cramping and I'm not, so they let me go every time.  I feel my BHs, but I think it is because I have been paying very careful attention since I've been getting them since 15 weeks.  Some women mistake BHs for movement.  One way to lear to tell when you are having a BH is to sit down or lay down and press your fingers into your belly.  When you have a BH, your belly will get hard for about 40 seconds to 1.5 minutes and then get soft again. Once you recognize them with your fingers, you'll be able to start to recognize them without having to press in your stomach.

    It is also my understanding that they WANT to see acels on the NST, the more the better.  It shows movement and that the heart responds to the movement.
