Austin Babies

what is this?

did any of yall ever have this?

i am having a hard time telling if they warm up contractions (i think i remember hearing about those in birthing class) or if it is just a weird stretch that baby is doing and then going back to whatever position she was in before. it happens really quick and then goes away... as in it lasts maybe 3 seconds or so.

they aren't painful, it's more like if someone gave you a quick hug or squeeze on the arm and then let go. just enough for you to go "hey, i noticed that" but not go "ouch, wtf!" it doesn't feel like my previous braxton hicks or her normal movements either.

Re: what is this?

  • That's what my BH felt like. For the longest time I thought it was the baby stretching until I realized it wasn't. hah.

  • Might be early contractions, are they timeable?
  • Wow, I can't believe you're so close!

I only experienced BH the second time around and they were slightly painful and I was like 'ouch, wtf!' :-)

I don't think I can help, but is this sensation continuous, off and on during the day?

  • I've had this for the last 3 months... thought it was baby doing yoga, (felt like her butt sticking out a couple inches above my belly button. had my baby shower a couple weeks ago and an ob/gyn friend was in attendance and felt one of these instances - told me that this was actually BH. that said, its not painful at all, just "uncomfortable."
  • i've had this for the last 2 months or so... i was convinced it was just baby doing yoga stretches, (felt like her butt sticking out a couple inches above my belly button. then i had my baby shower a couple weeks ago and an ob/gyn friend was in attendance and felt one of these instances - told me that this was actually BH. that said, its not painful at all, just "uncomfortable" as it's happening a couple times an hour. I thought I'd get used to it, but it still throws me off each time it happens.
  • cool. yeah they aren't time-able - but they are a lot more frequent in the last two days - still random though. something else to add to the list of things to tell the ob at my next appointment this week! :)
