What do you all think of Rose as a MN for a girl. I love it, DH thinks it sounds too "old lady-ish". MILs name is Rosalind, which I don't really like, but I love Rose and it's close enough that we would be naming the baby after her, which she would be so happy with.
I was thinking Laura Rose P. (Laura being my mom's name)

My second daughter's middle name is Rose after my Gram & DH's aunt. I think it's a beautiful mn.
I'm really tired of hearing the term "filler" mn. Some of us actually did put thought into it and grouping it as a "filler" mn is ridiculous.
I love the middle name Rose! I'd use it if we ever have a girl, but DH has a negative association with the name. Also, it's not a family name for either of us and I have a hang up with "making up" middle names.
And Laura Rose is beautiful!
Ditto.
me too! It actually p!sses me off when this is said. The fact is, it is fairly traditional to use family names as middle names. Most family names are "older" names such as Rose, Ann, Marie, Grace, Joseph, Paul. My daughter's middle name is Rose. I named her after my cousin (best friend) who was killed in a car crash when we were younger. Definitely NOT a filler name.
BTW, It is usually the same people who cannot differentiate between trendy and classic(but common) who play the "filler name" card. That is another pet peeve of mine on this board!
