I'm going to have to start the search for a nanny soon, and since we just moved here I'm looking for some ideas! Anyone have a good agency they would recommend?
I've looked at DC Urban Moms and Sittercity. Anywhere else I should be looking?
Also, what's the going rate around here for 2 kids? I'm thinking $15 to $18 an hour.
Re: Nanny search questions - please help!!
White House Nannies is very reputable. they are probably more expensive than the above you just listed but if I was going to have a complete stranger watch my child, I would feel better that they had a background check, confirmed legalized citizenship and came with reliable references.

you could also try care.com or nannies4hire.com.
I've found agencies to be ridiculously expensive. The one I used wanted $295 annual membership fee, plus the cost of the nanny ($15-20 per hour typically). If you want to hire the nanny permanently, you have to pay the agency a one-time fee of 15% their annual salary or $2500, whichever is greater.
Good luck!
