Re: (s/o) Post your intros here!

  • OK Sulfa since you asked :)  Hi everyone, I'm Kati.  I'm 32, dh is 38.  We've been trying for 10 cycles, 9.5 charted and on the bump.  I just started Metformin and we will be getting HSG and SA respectivly in the next month or two (got perscriptions for them,  just waiting til after this cycle and thyroid surgery to begin).  I like long walks on the beach and snarking at stupid crap.  Oh, and reading, movies, traveling, scrapebooking etc.  Most y'all know I post regularly but not enough to get me to silver in nine months LOL.

Edit add:  We married in June 09 and this will be our first.

  • Come on people! :)

I'm Constantina, bank teller and piano teacher extraordinaire.  We're celebrating our 4th anniversary in May and we have a mini-doxie.

  • Guess I'll start....been married since 8/06/05 dh and I have been together off and on since 1994.  He was my first boyfriend/kiss/lover then we broke up for 5 years after 2 years of dating and getting into college.  I met an older boy and got KU by him.  5 years later he was heading off to law school and I confessed my undying love for him.  Even with a 3 yo he took me back and here we are more in love then ever and trying for our "first".  But not really because he is the best father to dd that I could ever imagine.  I'm totally jealous of their relationship...but glad they have it!

  • I gave an intro a while back, but then I didn't post much for a while after my intro, so here's my intro again. Hi everyone!  I'm 27 and DH is 28 and we are TTC #1. We got married in June 2007 after having been together since February 2002.

I went off NuvaRing and started charting in November but we didn't start TTC until this cycle (used condoms before).  I still temped and used OPKs and checked CM before this cycle to get an idea of my body though.  So we are on cycle #1 TTC but this is my 5th cycle charting.

Right now I'm in my first 2ww and trying not to obsess about it all the time.  I've been pretty good about it so far, but the phantom symptoms sure do seem real!  Even though most of them are not that unusual for me between O and AF, I can't help but notice them extra now!

Edited to fix the year DH and I got married (2007 - not 2008.  Oops!  It was a typo.)

i've been doing a good job charting and i have even tried using OP test. about 10 days po i experienced some cramping, which im hoping was implantation. have had some spotting which i noticed after sex, but nothing else. i have also felt some fullness and soreness in my breast. and i keep having cramps like my period will start but nothing happens. i took a digital test last night and it was a NO. im thinking it may still be early and i should wait it out...what do ya'll think?

  • Guilty!  I have been lurking for a few months now and only have a couple of posts so far, but guess it is as good as a time as any to introduce myself.  We have been TTC for 5 months.  I have learned a lot from the ladies of TTGP so far, and look forward to getting to know you ladies better!

Kati, I really hope it works out for you! :)

Hey, Alley!  Welcome.  Sorry, you have to wait it out until you get a positive test or your period shows.  Good luck!

  • Damn...guess I f'ed up again..not clinical enough....alright here we go...I'm a teacher so we are trying to time it right so I can have a lot of time off, but at this point we just want to get ku.  Been trying since August, seriously charting since Jan.  DH is about to turn 31 and I am 31 (f that seems really old when I type it)  have a wonderful dd who is 11 1/2.  Got KU when I was 18.  So easy at the time (was scared out of my mind)  but now i'm being f'ed with....because it's been so hard with DH.  Isn't that the way lol   As I tell my students life isn't fair.

We have been TTC #1 for 8 months now, roughly 6 cycles (lost track at the beginning when I went with AF for awhile). I am a special education teacher for grades 3, 4, 5 and we have an Italian Mastiff named Rosie.

Voeux, I'm in NC too!  Welcome!

  • I feel like I have done more intros that posts (b/c I rarely start my own posts), so I'll try not to be boring!

I'm 26 and DH is 27, and we'll be married for 5 years in July.  This is our first cycle TTC, but I have been bumping since Nov. 09 to get a better idea of how to handle the process.  I am currently a SAHW, as I quit my accounting/information management job at a company that rhymed with "the cot" to deal with health issues.  DH and I have one furbaby (Duke), and we are currently trying to sell our condo in order to buy a bigger house.

Edited b/c my choice of words was not the best.

  • Well... Since you asked so nicely... I'm 23 DH is 25 and we are high school sweethearts, we broke up to go to different colleges on different sides of the state. DH is a bio chemical engineer and I am currently a SAHW since we just moved. I have a degree in sociology but hope to be a SAHM, unless i die of boredom trying to KU! We have been trying since August of last year.

  • I gave an intro a couple of weeks ago and then promptly stopped posting for about a week because my DH ended up the hospital with a pulmonary embolism.

Short(er) version: 32, DH is 37; married a year and half, together 8 and half years; off BCP in September and trying for our first (two legged, anyway, we have two four-legged kids Big Smile); on Cycle 7 (currently in 2ww); cycles went right to 28 days after BC; not charting yet; started OPKs three cycles ago; used digital OPKs this cycle in an effort to better read the positives; will most likely start temping/charting if we are unsuccessfull this cycle; not much hope for this cycle as DH got out of the hospital three days before +OPK, so while we did have the sex, I didn't push for too much.

A note on the DH/hospital/PE thing: DH wanted to try this cycle even thought he'd been in the hospital and we did ask the doctor if that form of physical activity was okay; he said yes (and I thought the  man was going to laugh at me when I asked the question).

Other: We were keeping TTC a secret, but my DH has a big mouth, so now most of our friends and his mother and our 17-year-old niece know. My mom knows because I needed someone who knew what it was like not to get pregnant right away. I have multiple friends who are currently pregnant or recently have birth. My 21-year-old SIL is pregnant with her 3rd and will be having her tubes tied when this one is born--which I found out 2 days before Cycle 6 came to an end.

So, that wasn't the short version. Embarrassed  Anyway, I decided to join in here because you ladies know where I'm at whereas most of my friends can't identify past two/three months.

  • I think I posted an intro at some point. I lurked here for like three months before I even went off BCP. I posted some stupid newb post at the very beginning, got all pissy when you all were "mean". And then I put on my big girl panties and stuck around. And now I love this board!

I'm 24 (in April), DH is 24. We have been together since 2007. I was his manager at a skate store. We were best friends working together for about 10 months before we realized there was something more. We dated for a year, were engaged for a year, and have now been married since July 11, 2009. We got a black lab puppy in August of 2008, but she got hit by a car the night we came back from our honeymoon. We had to put her down. We now have a new black lab puppy who is eight months old.

This is our third cycle TTC with one of those as a break after my miscarriage. So, I think this is really only TTC Month #2. I've been charting since December and it has really opened my eyes!

    Only for you.

I am K. Almost 29, DH is 38. We began trying in Febraury 2007 until DH left for Iraq in June 2007. We had a chance in July 2007 before he left, timed things perfectly in January 2008 when he was home on leave, then continued once he got home in May 2008. We tried and tried and failed and failed. Went to my OB in January 2009 where she looked at my height and weight and told me I am clearly diabetic and not ovulating. I'm not sure why she is still breathing. She sent me in for a glucose test, testosterone test and prolactin. T was slightly elevated, but it was the wrong time of month to be testing it.

Following her pissing me off, I went to another OB for a second opinion. He listened to what had been going on since twatnozzle didn't pass on my medical records in time and sent me with orders for a progesterone test (which I passed with flying colors. Take that!). DH did a SA with first OB in this time. All normal.

New OB ordered an HSG for April 2009- all clear. Endo biopsy June 2009- dpo matched perfectly with BBT chart (oh, I started this while DH was deployed). His next step was to send me in for a lap. I asked for basic tests, which he refused because I was clearly ovulating. Yeah, not what I asked. Wasn't happy with that and not comfortable with moving to a lap, which they considered the last step in the process by their office. Decided to go to an RE.

Initial appointment Nov 2009. Ran all eleventy billion blood tests with my next cycle, all results normal. Plan- Clomid, trigger, IUI. All went well except Clomid thinned my lining. Joy. February 2010 move on to Femara. Started well, but follies never matured. Let that cycle run itself out, went in for CD3 u/s in March 2010, found cyst on left ovary. Cycle off.

Next cycle will be a break cycle as well as we can't afford to freeze sperm and cycle in the same month. After that it will be Femara, Menopur, trigger, IUI (likely frozen first time around).

Fukc me, I've been at this too long. I know I skipped shiit, like the cycle from hell.

Don't really know how to respond to that other than to say I hope the best for you and DH and I'm glad to know you.

kdodge, I've seen you posting a lot on here I knew you've had a rough TTC journey, but seeing it all laid out here like this I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am you've had to deal with all this.  It just seems so unfair that some people have no trouble at all (and get KU having sex with their boyfriends for the first time at age 16 in the back of a car) while people who are totally ready to be parents have so much trouble TTC.

While I obviously can't personally relate since I'm only on cycle #1, my mom had trouble TTC and TTC for 3 years before adopting my brother and then kept TTC for 6 more years before she finally got KU with me, and I've heard my whole life how hard that was for her.  Anyways, I just wanted to say that I am sorry things have been so rough for you and the other ladies who have had a rocky TTC journey and I hope you get your BFP soon. Good luck.

This is our third cycle TTC with one of those as a break after my miscarriage. So, I think this is really only TTC Month #2. I've been charting since December and it has really opened my eyes!

had to giggle...glad you stuck around!

  • Well, I guess it's time to come out of lurking! I've been lurking since the beginning of the year and it's time to jump in. I married DH this past June, I am 23 and he is 27. Last week I took my last BCP and right now we are just letting nature take it's course. In a few months we will start charting, but right now we are just going to see what happens.

I have a 6 y/o stepson that we get every other weekend. We also have Riley, our 2 y/o furbaby (Boxer). I am a labor and delivery nurse, so I know alot about pregnancy after 20 weeks. But before that it all gets sort of fuzzy, they don't cover much in nursing school. In nursing school they teach you about the biological aspects of conception but you don't hear a word about charting or, for example, Pom juice, etc. So I will be looking to you wonderful ladies for lots of info in our TTC journey.

Looking forward to getting to know you ladies!!

I think I posted an intro at some point.

I am too. I specifically remember Kdodge saying something in my idiot newb post and I thought it was so mean. And someone used the magic eight ball on me and the "hmm let me see up your ute". Looking back on it now, I can't believe I posted at all. I was a fool.

  • Hi!  I'm Kirsten, 29 and DH is Art, 25.  We met 5 years ago, through my good friend and have been married a year and a half.  I teach 8th grade History and he is finishing up PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) school.  He will be done in September, YAY!!  We live in a 2 bedroom apartment, and will look for a house when he is done with school, can't wait!  We have one furbaby, Laila, a boxer.  She's 3 and a half months, and full of energy.  We started TTC on our honeymoon.  I kind of had a gut instinct it would take us awhile, but didn't figure this long.  I have PCOS and bicornuate uterus, the PCOS is actually, so far the bigger problem.

I have learned a lot from all of your posts.  As someone who likes to wear my big girl panties every day, I like your honest and direct approach.  I look forward to getting to know you better!

I love your furbaby!  Marshall is adorable.  Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers are my absolute favorite breed of dog.  We have two mutts right now though.  And I could not handle any more dogs in my life!
