CPR and First Aid Training

Good evening everyone!  I spent my day in CPR (adult, child, and infant) and first aid training and certification.  I had to get my CPR certification for professional reasons, but I have to say, the information was so great!  I learned so much about how to handle almost any medical issue and highly recommend this class to anyone with children or TTC.

I have some friends who had twins last year and one of them had rolled up against the crib bumper (I know crib bumpers are controversial and needless to say, they got rid of them immediately after this incident) and couldn't roll away.  The baby had actually stopped breathing and the dad had to do CPR on him.  So scary!  But after this class, I am feeling better prepared for these type of emergencies.

I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

Re: CPR and First Aid Training

  • Good for you!  That is awesome training to have.  I think everyone should take a certification class in their lifetime.  Infact, things change all the time in that area so it is always a good idea to update your skills.  I was a flight attendant, so I had to take it back in the day, but I have since re-certified since I became a parent.  It is definitely something you never want to have to use, but really glad, in a bad scenario.  I am so sorry that your friend had to go through that.  I always think how scary it would be to help a stranger etc. but one of your own?!  I think that I would go around the bend!  Hopefully having the tools, would help me to stay calm should the need arise!  I am glad that you tool the time to take that course!

  • That's awesome!  They're having "Free CPR Week" here in April, so I will also be taking a class.......hopefully, I'll never have to use these skills, but they are good to have!
