Pasta salad question

We have 2 parties for DS this weekend and I got on a roll getting food prepped/ready for his parties.  Well I wasnt even thinking and I made the pasta salad that we dont need till Sunday.  Its in my refrigerator and will stay there but do you think it will be ok till Sunday afternoon?

Re: Pasta salad question

  • Yes~as long as you keep it in the fridge, I always make pasta salad(DH loves it) and I keep it for up to a week and then toss it

  • sorry, I forgot to add that you will probably need to add more italian dressing. The longer the pasta salad sits, the more the pasta, veggies, cheese, etc. soak up the dressing from the original time you made it. Add some more and it will seem very fresh.

Thanks!!  I know my thought was to make it in advance to let the flavors meld and let the dressing soak into everything, I just made it a day earlier than planned.  This will save me a lot of time tomorrow!!!

Me, too!  And not even good, homemade pasta salad, but the sodium-rich Suddenly Pasta Salads in a box!  Ugh, ever since the OB put me on a low-sodium diet I've been craving salt like nobody's business.

  • Yes.  I actually think that pasta salad made a day or so ahead of time tastes better.  The ingredients get a chance to come together a little more.  It's same deal as left over chili, its always better the next day.
