Babies: 0 - 3 Months

when did you start jogging with LO?

I havent run since 25 weeks preg and am itching to go again to start to lose this extra 10 lbs hanging around my hips. DH doesnt get home from work until late every evening.

When did you start jogging with LO in the jogging stroller? My BOB guide says at least 8 weeks.

Dumb question: Do you put them in the stroller  itself or attach the car seat?

 Thanks!

  • Gosh, I thought you were supposed to wait 'till about 8 months.  It really wouldn't be safe to have them in the car seat on top of the jogger!  My cousin is a runner, she told me a year.

Holy crap...8 months?!?! Why such a long wait? It doesn't make any sense.

  • If you can attach the carseat to the stroller then I would say go for it. I thought that most of them said 4-6 months, when they can hold their head up steadily.

  • I thought you could get a car seat adapter for jogging strollers so you can snap the car seat in and still go jogging.  We don't have a jogger but our stroller says not to sit your baby up in it until they can sit up on their own.
  • I'm taking my daughter out in my BOB today, she's 10 weeks old. I have a carseat adaptor for my BOB that you can snap your carseat into and then the canopy folds over it with a window to see the baby. My pedi said the carseat adaptor was fine and I could run at any time I wanted with her and he even said if she was well padded and the seat reclined fully (at the time I couldn't remember if it did or not---it doesn't) that that was fine too. I know lots of running moms that have started even earlier than I am, I've just been waiting for the weather to break!

i have the adapter also for my BOB and have been walking, but plan to start jogging this weekend... as long as it's not raining!

  • Thanks- I have the adapter too and have been using it for walks!! LO is pretty snug in there.

  • I have an older Kelty Joyrider and it says to wait till baby is 6 months old.
  • To put a baby in a baby jogger, you have to wait until they are 6 months old.  I dont know about the adapters.  The bouncing and what not from the jogger is really rough on their heads/necks and their little bodies can't take it.

I can't wait to go out either, but I wait until DH gets home and go.  He watches LO and I run. It's only fair and for my sanity- helps releave stress :)
