DD1 loathed them. Every single time we offered one, no matter what kind, she'd spit it out as soon as she realized what it was, and she'd give us the most horrible look.
Our pedi recommended helping her find her hands. She sucked on her hands/fingers for a few months and then gave it up on her own.
It was also a huge struggle to get her to take a bottle, and she was off them and onto sippies by six months. She just hated artificial nipples, I guess.
We've offered pacis to DD2 and she'll take them. But she seems to be kind of take-it-or-leave-it about them at this point.

Mine only takes it rarely.
I never took one when I was little.
