I know its dumb because yo can't "force" a baby to sleep, but they are up all day. I have tried everything except CIO since everyone has told me they are too young. DH and I are exhausted, we get no sleep at night and none during the day. with the two of them I barely have time to make their bottles, get laundry done, mind you even have a minute to take a shower. Any thoughts or books that worked for you? Also any thoughts on the CIO at 6 weeks? still seems early to me
Re: my LOs won't nap... what to do?
6 weeks is way too early for CIO. I'm sorry. We are dealing with something similar, he'll only sleep if someone holds him.
They might be OVER tired which is why they won't sleep. I know - counterintuitive -right?
SWADDLE THEM! SERIOUSLY. The MIRACLE BLANKET has saved me MANY times. (Amazon dot com!)
LO yesterday wouldn't nap. I put him in his swing, he slept for 20 minutes and woke up. (He use to sleep from 12-5)
I was so frustrated and he was so tired, so I swaddled him and let him freak out for 5 minutes and he finally caved to sleep.
Try swaddling
Can you take them for a long drive? That always seems to get my LO out for about 2hrs in the afternoon.
If that doesn't work, I second swaddle. It works wonders with a little swaying side to side with my LO.
Swaddling has helped me so much! He fights it at first but settles down after he tries to escape. I saw this link on here a few days ago and tried it on my LO - it is great! He's so good at escaping from a regular swaddle, but this escape proof swaddle works.

These are things that have helped me: swaddling, driving in the car, the swing - goes right to sleep on a fast setting, making sure it's not too hot, sleep sheep, where they sleep - seriously she woke up every two hours in the co-sleeper next to the bed. In her own crib - out for hours.
The 5 S's.
Swaddle - I like the miracle blanket - we got 7 hours w/ it last night and 8 the night before. Babies like to be tight - like when they were in your belly.
Swing - Put it on the highest setting and swing them to sleep. Babies lie to be rocked - it simulates the womb.
Suck - Now my two kids never liked the paci - but if you can give one do.
Shhh - White noise - we love the Homediscs white noise maker - we use the ocean setting - run to BB& B and get it!
Side/ Stomach -I don't use this because of SIDs - but you could for naps if you want.
Do they sleep in the car? Take them for a ride to get to sleep and let them sleep a little in the car seat
Good Luck!
Make sure to keep an eye on their awake time, and try the escape proof swaddle with a sound machine/white noise (like a fan for white noise and a fisher price aquarium for music to put to sleep).
