Stuff to do while on bedrest???

My SIL was just put on a pretty regulated bedrest....she can only get up for things like going to the bathroom...Anyway, I want to send her a care package, what should be included?

I am making a list of things to do too...they don't have cable, but they do have the internet.  So suggestions on fun websites would be good too!  Or things to keep her hands busy and her mind more carefree!

TIA

  • Does she sew, knit or crochet?  Does she have a baby book she can start filling out (you know - all the info on mom and dad, hopes and dreams for the baby, etc)?  gossip magazines, SATC DVDs....
  • Loading the player...
  • What about a sunscription to netflix!  No cable?  I think I would die lol!  a book of crossword puzzles?  lots of gossip magazines!

  • When I got put on bedrest with DD my sister sent me a care package that had magazines, sudoku, chocolate, manicure goodies and some scrapbooking supplies. Other things I did a lot of were reading (espcially books on parenting and brestfeeding), knitting, and watching ungodly amounts of TV.

It's very thoughtful of you to send her something.

  • I was on a bedrest for a short time during my pregnancy with Kaylin. I did A LOT of reading. I also made a needlepoint for her nursery. I'm hoping to spend a few days on self-imposed bedrest before little man comes and will be working on scrapbooking :)
  • If I remember correctly from your babyshower post she and I are due about the sametime (4/15).   I think magazines (gossip, pregnancy), some chickflick movies or netflix membership, maybe some baked goods.  Some girly bubble bath, body scrubs (help with itchy skin) or nailpolish.

I was on the same bedrest with M for a month before having him.  It was hard, hope this time goes quickly for her.

Yep, she was due 4/17...but they have moved her due date up (not sure exactly why yet) to 4/11.

Thanks for all the advice ladies!  Keep it coming....I am making a shopping list :)

  • I'm totally addicted to the Sims computer game. It's the best time waster on the planet. She would need a lap top though unless she's allowed to sit in a chair.

I got through lots of "save for a rainy day" projects- wedding photos, scanned a bunch of stuff, weeded through old files, cleaned out my inbox- I'm kindof a paperwork hoarder, so I went through and tossed a ton (I was on for 13 weeks or so).

You honestly can only watch so much tv/internet- my eyes would go buggy after a couple of hours- so puzzles- on her side in bed and get the rollup puzzle saver, crafts, anything to keep the hands busy.
