We are officially on the wait list! The USCIS officer sent me an e-mail saying that we have been approved and we will be receiving our 171H approval next week! Our agency goes by the date you were approved, so we are officially on the waitlist!

I can not stop crying. I am an emotional mess right now haha - such happy tears!

Thanks so much for letting me share!!!!

    That is so great- congratulations!!!  I knew I was looking forward to being on the wait list but I shocked myself at just how excited I was!  How long do you guys expect you'll be waiting before your referral?  Looking forward to celebrating that with you as well!

    Our agency always says 4-10 months, but since we are open to an older toddler (and a boy), it will probably be right in the middle of that.

    What about you? Do you expect to get a referral soon? :) 

    There are new rumors that they may be rethinking the 2-trip Ethiopian rule already! It's on all the message boards and it sounds like one agency has said something about only 1 trip now. Our agency hasn't said anything as they have not confirmed it yet.

    Our average wait time is 5 months- and we're a little past 3 and a 1/2 months now.  We've requested either gender from 12-24 months, so we're thinking it will be a toddler boy for us too! 

    It will be interesting to see what happens with the two trip rule.  I've gotten used to the idea now and was kind of excited abaout it!  Minus leaving the little one there for a month or two, of course.  We will see!

    5/10 - Gideon 6/12 Warren
    4/11 Started adoption process for 2 siblings through DCF. 10/12 Found out we are licensed! 12/14 Brought 3 week old identical twin girls home from the hospital.  Could be at least until Summer 1015 til we know if they are forever ours
