Foam alphabet letters + dishwasher

Can you put these in the dishwasher?  I'm afraid the foam will melt.

The bathtub/mold post freaked me out so I got some new ones but they smell awful.  I keep imagining chemicals leaching into the bathwater, lol.

DD's are a gross mess and I need to do this! What do you put them in?  A mesh laundry bag? Bottle dishwasher basket? Something else?

we've bee using ours for a year now and thye don;t stink...yet.. how do you guys let them dry out after bath time?

What about throwing them in the washer on delicate or even just to soak with a bit of bleach or oxi clean?  That's always my plan, but instead I just do nothing.

I'd also try soaking them in oxiclean or bleach.
