I know the co-sleeping question has been asked a gazillion times, but there are some other factors I'd like to know as well to help me imagine what will work best for us.
1. Vag or c/s delivery?
2. Did you bf?
3. How involved was your DH at night?
4. Did your babies co-sleep (sleep together)?
5. Did you co-sleep (with co-sleeper/s)?
6. Where/how did you do nighttime diaper changes?
7. When did your babies start sleeping in their cribs?
8. Bumper, no bumper, or breathable bumper?
9. What were the good and bad aspects of your arrangement?
10. Any other thoughts?
Re: Sleeping arrangement questions
1. N/A
2. Nope, bottlefed
3. We started off feeding every 3 hours, DH and I would take turns during the night feeding. He was and is very involved and helpful.
4. Yup, same crib for the first ~5 weeks. Then after that they were squirming too much and waking each other, moved to seperate cribs but still the same room.
5. Never, they were in cribs in nursery from day 1.
6. We always would wake/feed them at the same time, so diaper changes were in the nursery, on the changing table.
7. See #5.
8. No bumper.
9. We used the happy sleep habits..... book, they have both always been fantastic sleepers, and I think keeping them on the same schedule and not in our room allowed DH and I to always get a decent amount of sleep. I can't really think of a bad aspect of it.
10. I think one of the reasons I never really worried about them in their cribs is because we use the Angelcare monitors. These take all the "worry" out of nighttime for me. I highly reccomend them.

7. When did your babies start sleeping in their cribs?

8. Bumper, no bumper, or breathable bumper?
breathable bumpers
9. What were the good and bad aspects of your arrangement?
I wish we could have put them in their room earlier but I wasn't ready at the time
10. Any other thoughts?
I NEVER believed the other MoM's that told me it would get easier in those early weeks and months but they were telling the truth - it does! And I have lived to pass on that same message - it does get easier! Good luck!
2. Did you bf? - no (but I pumped for about 2 months)
3. How involved was your DH at night? - very (we would either take turns with feedings, or we'd both get up, depending on what night of the week it was.)
4. Did your babies co-sleep (sleep together)? yes, for about 3 months
5. Did you co-sleep (with co-sleeper/s)? no
6. Where/how did you do nighttime diaper changes? In their room (where they slept) on the changing table
7. When did your babies start sleeping in their cribs? From day 1.
8. Bumper, no bumper, or breathable bumper? Breathable
9. What were the good and bad aspects of your arrangement? It worked out great for us! We have a small house, so they were never very far from us, but far enough that we didnt' hear every little squeak and fart.
10. Any other thoughts?
