s/o ERGO help

DD loves being carried up front, but she'll do this thing where she leans her head waaaay back.  It looks really uncomfortable, but she won't keep her head up, KWIM?  So, it looks like I'm carrying a NB since I instinctively hold her head up for her.  I would love to try the back carry but I don't want her head leaning back like she does when I put her in the front carry.

Any tips?  I'm I not wearing her properly?  Maybe I'm wearing her too low?  Too tight?  I just know that my DD doesn't look like the babies in the pictures from the link Rosie posted.  Maybe it's her size...IDK.

  • Yeah, it looks like she's trying to look up at me, but then she'll just keep her head leaned way back and turn it from side-to-side, instead of bringing it forward and then turning it side-to-side.  I'll have to try loosening the straps.  It's strange.

  • MrsRosie, are you offering me a piece of jewelery?  That's mighty forward of you!  Stick out tongue

JK, that's a good suggestion.  Do you think a necklace made of graham crackers would look nice?  I'm pretty sure that would hold her interest!  I really would just like for her to hold her head correctly.

  • Do you think she just might be trying to look out?  To see more?

Alessandra does this too, and I think it's because she wants to be able to see. Have you tried the hip carry? I didn't like the back carry because the waist strap cut right across my flabby tummy, and it looked weird. It was also uncomfortable. I haven't tried the hip carry in a while, so I don't know if it would help or not.

  • Bride--I think that's a big part of the problem.  She likes to be all up in everyone's bidness, and so I do think she's trying to look out to see more.  But I would think she could still look around with her head held up.

MrsChristmas--I have tried the hip carry.  She can't/won't lean back like that in the hip carry, but I can't wear her like that as long as I can wear her in the front carry.
