Teething Question

When your LO was/is teething, did they start fussing when drinking a bottle and also start having hysterical crying fits? I ask because on top of the usual drooling and chomping on his hands, he has started having serious crying fits and gets angry if you keep trying to put the bottle in his mouth to give him more. I wonder if his gums are sore, I can't see anything coming thru yet, other than like a faint "indent" on where the two bottom teeth would be, but I am wondering if the new bottle issues and screaming is all related. I rubbed my finger on the bottom of his gums during one of his crying fits tonight and it seemed to bring relief to his crying. So I am guessing this is all related, just wondering what your experience is?

  • It could be related to teething.  DD started showing signs of teething at Christmas time, and just cut her first tooth 2 weeks ago, and a second tooth 1 week ago.  When she's in a lot of pain from it she tends to not eat as much, unless we relieve the pain with tylenol or teething gel.  All of the baby ora-gel stuff says not to use until 4 months, but I recommend Hylands teething gel or teething tablets which you can start at any time.  Even though DD is well over 4 months, we still prefer the Hylands gel.
